An exciting first day as for many it was the “first” World Championship. Three teams have confirmed their attitude in matches of this type, namely Spain, Argentina and Italy. The match of the day was definitely Portugal-France and the expectations were not lost either. The talent of Viti Oliveira decided another match for the Portuguese side (3-2 result): his goal at the start of the second half was decisive, after France took the lead twice, a fact not often happened in history. Spain had opened the ball with a very strong 13-0 defeat of Switzerland. A match dominated from the first minute, where the aptitude of Gabarrò and Escala, already protagonists of the Spanish championship, were shown. Great curiosity for the debut of the reigning champion Argentina: the wait was respected, with a decisive 6-2 in the first half which then ended with 8-4, where the figure of Valentino Marzonetto, scorer of four goals, will be felt throughout the rest of the World Cup. Italy also showed great feeling for goals, winning 13-1 against Colombia. Also in this case two goalscorers, Colamaria and Uva, three goals that showed Italy being more aggressive than usual. France-Italy is the most important match on Monday (9pm) while Portugal, Argentina and Spain have an easier challenge on paper.

The Intercontinental Championship has also begun. Four large victories for two Europeans and two Asians. Macau-China defeated PR China 17-0, while India 13-5 against Chinese Taipei. Andorra and Germany won 19-0 and 16-3. Without Egypt and Angola, the calendar shrinks, but still remains with four races per day.
